Private midwifery care that’s intentional, supports informed choice and physiological birth

Ready to experience relationship-led midwifery care?

You may be here because you want something different from fragmented care with someone who knows you, understands your values and can walk alongside you through pregnancy, birth and the early weeks afterwards.

Whether this is your first baby or third, it’s natural to have questions, uncertainties and hopes about how you want to be supported. Having a personal midwife who knows you and who is there consistently is evidenced to have better outcomes for both you and your baby.

My role is to offer steady, informed support, so you can focus on your experience of pregnancy and birth with confidence and reassurance.
You don't need to have all the answers right now, but if you have questions or concerns, I'd love to meet with you and help put your mind at ease!

THIS IS WHAT'S DIFFERENT

Care that feels like it was made for you and a birth you'll treasure

Care that comes to you

Every appointment is at your home or workplace, at a pace that suits you.
No waiting rooms and no parking stress- flexible midwifery care as and when you need.

One midwife, start to finish

Expert, personalised midwifery care. I also work alongside specialist women's health practitioners to support you in a holistic manner throughout your pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey.

Your advocate

Your role is to make decisions about your body and your baby. I provide evidence-based information and actively support you to make the decisions that feel aligned with you.

All of you, not just the clinical bits

I don’t just focus on natural birth, but value combining respect for physiology with safe, rigorous professional training and up-to-date knowledge.

darcy midwife east london

I’m Darcy - a registered independent midwife offering full-spectrum, relationship-led care throughout pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period.

From early in my career I was drawn to a philosophy of care that holds women at the centre. I could see how the standardised care model in the UK erodes confidence - in women’s bodies, in the process, and in the system itself. I wanted to offer something distinctly different.

I grew up in the countryside, surrounded by the natural rhythms of farming life - watching crops grow, lambs arrive and the seasons change. That closeness to the cycles of growth and birth gave me a deep patience and a genuine respect for nature and the body’s ability to do what it was made to do.

I don’t just focus on physiological birth. My training is rigorous, and I bring the same clinical depth to every appointment. Transfers happen and obstetric care saves lives - I support both without hesitation. What I offer is the combination: respect for your physiology, and the skills to keep you safe.

Advocacy matters to me. Informed consent, informed decline, your authority over your own body and your birth. I actively support you to take the lead. You have the education and freedom to choose the type of care you and your baby receive. You won’t be pressured into routine testing or procedures. My job is to bring knowledge, skill and presence and a positive birth experience.

As a qualified mother and baby massage therapist and trained in the biomechanics of birth and other complementary therapies, I love working with families who want to experience a deeply individualised, attentive and nurturing approach to their pregnancy, labour and birth experience and new family.

When I’m not with families you’ll probably find me somewhere in Italy with my partner, whose family is from the Alps. There’s something about the mountains and the slower pace of life there that restores me every time. I bring that same unhurried quality to this work.

Ready to experience real midwifery care?

Simple from the start

01 - Book your initial consultation

If you're asking yourself the question 'is private midwifery care worth it?' the short answer is 'yes'. An initial consultation is the place to start.

02 - We meet and talk

A relaxed conversation with no pressure, no commitment. Your partner and family are welcome to join. We’ll discuss the process, your hopes and personal needs and answer any questions you have.

03 - We begin

I work with two families a month intentionally for full-spectrum care-my aim is to provide individualised, compassionate and nurturing support. If you're drawn to this kind of care, a conversation is a good place to start.

Typically, midwifery care usually begins in the first trimester. If you’re further along, please still reach out. I’ll always let you know what’s possible or point you to another trusted private, independent midwife if I can’t help.
